  • Frontier Gear of Alaska Brooks Range Jacket
This is our famous jacket that Bob designed twenty-five years ago while hunting sheep in the Brooks Range. The jacket is now in use by sheep hunters all over the world from Tajikistan to Siberia as well as a layering piece for polar bear hunting. The jacket uses the finest insulation available- Primaloft sport synthetic insulation. The continuous fiber design of Primaloft Sport eliminates the need for baffles, which in turn eliminates insulation shift and thousands of stitch holes through the windproof shell. The outer shell material is made of Pertex Quantum endurance, a waterproof, breathable fabric. The jacket has zippered, fleece lined pockets as well as a fleece-lined collar. The front zipper has a built in storm guard over the front YKK Derlin zipper. The bottom of the jacket has adjustable hem cords to prevent wind from entering the jacket. There is also an optional removable zip-off baffled hood for additional weather protection. Even though this jacket has a waterproof breathable exterior for conditions where rain and snow may be mixed it is not designed as a one hundred percent waterproof jacket. The Brooks Range Jacket occupies very little space (approximately 6x10 inch stuff sack) and is our most popular insulated outerwear piece. This jacket is a necessity for any hunts where you are sitting glassing for long periods of time or you are in cooler conditions. The Brooks Range jacket will become one of your favorite pieces of hunting equipment and it also looks good as a casual wear garment. Average weight is 30 oz. -Windproof Pertex Endurance fabric -Highly water resistant -2 zippered waist pockets -Reinforced elbows and shoulders -Optional hood Please call for availability

  • Valandre Immelman Jacket
In the world of technical mountaineering and cold weather alpinism there are very few companies that innovate like Valandre. After seeing a need for a more technical, articulated down jacket Valandre created the Immelman jacket. See other companies running into problems with down shifting during overhead activities Valandre added extra lateral baffles in the underarms. Valandre also went the extra mile with the ventilation system in the Immelman. Accepting the fact that users will be working hard and sweating in the jacket the designers incorporated a 2-way, snag free zipper. The zipper baffles meet in the middle from each side and reduce the risk of snags while still maintaining full protection. We are bringing in the Immelman with cold weather hunts in mind, so if you have Marco Polo or Musk Ox coming up trust Valandre with your bodily comfort and protection. -850 Bar Head goose down -34 ounces -Available in green and black *Available through special order
