Here at Barney’s the search for innovation in new products and outdoor equipment never rests. In this case, although Mystery Ranch has dominated the Hunting Pack world for quite some time, we are happy to introduce them to our store this coming spring. For those that are not familiar with the Brand, it started in the Mountaineering world with a company called Dana Design’s. After selling that company to Marmot, Dana Gleason started Mystery Ranch which is based out of Bozeman Montana. Not only is Mystery Ranch new to Barney’s, but they have also revamped their entire pack collection to help introduce lighter, and more diverse pack options while maintaining the same quality and longevity that the U.S. Military, serious Mountain Hunters, and Backpackers have trusted for the past two decades. Here at Barney’s, we are BIG believers in “give credit where credit is deserved”. Unfortunately, this industry is full of companies that essentially get their start, where others left off. Although there are other pack companies making headlines lately, let’s not overlook where that innovation came from. The Marshall, at 6,700 cubic inches and built off the popular NICE frame which is an internal hybrid design is great for hunters looking for a pack with the capacity to hold 10-15 day trips in to the backcountry. With the old “Astraplane” design and weighing in at just 7.2 lbs, the Marshall is a top loading pack, with access at the bottom, and plenty of external pockets for quick and easy access. Whether your headed in to the Alaska Range in search of Dall Sheep, or headed to the Alaskan Peninsula to chase trophy Brown Bears, the Marshall is a tried and true design.
