The continuous fiber design of Primaloft eliminates the need for baffles, which in turn eliminates insulation shift and thousands of stitch holes which create cold spots.The outer shell material is made of\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003e2 Layer eVent, a waterproof, breathable fabric. The jacket has zippered, fleece lined pockets as well as a fleece-lined collar. The front zipper has a built in storm guard over the front YKK Vislon zipper. The bottom of the jacket has adjustable hem cords to prevent wind from entering the jacket. There is also an optional removable zip-off baffled hood for additional weather protection. Starting with two prototypes we sent them out into the mountains of Alaska with a select few guides to see just how innovative this fabric was and ultimately if it could live up to the hype.  Just like with every other prototype and field test, there were definitely areas where we wanted to pay a little more attention to. We reinforced some key areas of concern with our standard 500D Cordura to ensure the longevity would still hold true, while using the sail cloth fabric in all the other areas.
