The Splitting Axe is the younger brother to the Splitting Maul. The only difference in design is a slightly shorter poll, the part of the axe behind the blade. The absence of the poll means this axe is not designed for use with a splitting wedge. A shorter handle and slightly less weighty head makes the Splitting Axe perfect for a variety of splitting tasks at home or in camp. A steel collar and tanned leather sheath protect the Splitting Axe when not in use.
