Named after an Alaskan icon that Piper Aircraft introduced in the late 1940’s and has been a staple in remote bush flying in Alaska ever since, the PA 18 was the best fitting name for a pant born in the remote mountains of Alaska.
No one is reinventing the wheel these days. We pay attention to what works, and what doesn’t. Not just the end product, but more importantly the fabrics, the sewing, the textiles, and the styles. Today’s rendition of the Piper PA18 are better known as the carbon cubs and experimental cubs that spare zero expense in creating the absolute best performing aircraft for remote bush flying. We took that very same concept and poured it into this pant. There are plenty of high quality pants on the market, no question as we sell most of them. However Barneys has always been about filling a niche, and a void in the industry has been a lightweight, breathable and durable pant that was able to not only withstand the varying temperatures of early season sheep hunting, but also the rugged terrain in which they inhabit.
